For TP-Link RE220 Extender Setup, first of all, you need to Plug in your extender near your router. It can be in the same room.
Wait until the Power LED on the Range Extender Turns solid. Once we have a solid green light then it means its ready for Setup.
Now grab any of your devices like computer, laptop, cellphone, i-pad, etc for Setup.
Connect your device to your Extender’s default Network name. NOTE:- You can do that by going to the settings on your phone then to WiFi and selecting your Extender default name over there. On your desktop, you need to click on WiFi icon on the lower right-hand corner and select TP-Link Extender default name over there.
Once connected to default TP-Link Extender Network open a browser like (google, safari, firefox or Internet Explorer).
NOTE:- In case the page doesn’t come up Reset your TP-Link RE220 Range Extender and try to follow the steps again.
It will now ask you to create a Login password for management purpose, you can create any password you wish for.
Your TP Link AC750 WiFi range Extender will now scan for all the available networks in your area.
You need to select your main WiFi network name among the list of all the available network.
Punch In the Password for the selected 2.4 GHz networks.
Repeat the same process for 5GHz network, skip this part in case your Router doesn’t support 5GHz network.
Now you will have to confirm your Host Network name and password.
Once confirmed in the very next step you can change your Extender’s name or you can keep the default one. NOTE:- After Setup the extender picks up the same network as your Router. For instance, if your Host network name is ABC, then your extender’s network name will be ABC_EXT.
The TP-Link RE220 Extender will now Reboot, it takes around 90 seconds for that.
Once Rebooted, unplug the Extender and place it away from the router.
For best Internet Connectivity place the extender halfway between your Router and the place where you need Internet connectivity. IMP:- Place TP-Link RE220 Extender away from big appliances because they hinder the Internet connection from Range Extender.
